HSBC lowers cap for buffered AMPS linked to iShares MSCI EAFE ETF

Tacoma, Wash., June 7 – HSBC USA Inc. changed the cap for its upcoming 0% buffered Accelerated Market Participation Securities due June 29, 2018 linked to the iShares MSCI EAFE exchange-traded fund, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

If the ETF return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus double the ETF return, subject to a maximum return that is now expected to be at least 21.5% – revised from 22% – and will be set at pricing. Investors will receive par if the ETF declines by 10% or less and will lose 1% for every 1% that it declines beyond 10%.

HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.

The notes are expected to price June 27.

The Cusip number is 40433UNV4.
