Bank of Montreal plans buffered bullish notes linked to MSCI EAFE fund

Norfolk, Va., Oct. 20 – Bank of Montreal plans to price buffered bullish enhanced return notes due Jan. 30, 2017 linked to the iShares MSCI EAFE exchange-traded fund, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus 200% of any fund gain, up to a maximum return of $1,175 to $1,195 per $1,000 of notes. The exact cap will be set at pricing.
Investors will receive par if the fund falls by up to 5% and will lose 1% for each 1% decline beyond 5%.

The notes will price on Oct. 27 and settle on Oct. 30.
The Cusip number is 06366R3N3.
