Goldman Sachs plans return optimization notes on iShares MSCI EAFE

Madison, Wis., Dec. 18 – Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. plans to price 0% return optimization securities due Feb. 25, 2016 linked to the iShares MSCI EAFE exchange-traded fund, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
If the fund return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus 300% of the fund return, subject to a maximum settlement amount of $11.45 to $11.50 per $10 principal amount. The exact maximum payment will be set at pricing. Investors will be fully exposed to any decline in the fund.
Goldman Sachs & Co. is the agent.
The notes will price Dec. 19 and settle Dec. 24.
The Cusip number is 38148K751.
