Interstate Bakeries posts $8.53 million operating loss for four weeks to April 2

Pittsburgh, May 17 - Interstate Bakeries Corp. reported an $8.53 million operating loss for the four weeks ended April 2 on revenues of $134.42 million, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Missouri.

The operating loss for the period ended March 5 was $13.02 million on revenues of $132.23 million.

The net loss for the period to April 2 was $6.35 million, down from a net loss of $8.26 million in the previous four-week period.

Cash on April 2 was $118.13 million, up from $95.44 million on March 5.

The Kansas City, Mo., baker filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 22, 2004. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-45814.
