S&P puts American Realty Capital on positive watch

Standard & Poor's said it placed the B+ corporate credit rating on American Realty Capital Trust on CreditWatch with positive implications following the REIT's recent internalization of its management functions and listing of its common stock on the Nasdaq.

S&P said it expects these actions to reduce overhead, improve financial flexibility and strengthen coverage of the common dividend.

The agency said it expects to resolve the CreditWatch placement over the next 90 days, the agency said.

Among other factors, the assessment will focus on the company's overall liquidity, coverage of the common dividend and expectations for growth and credit metrics going forward, S&P said.
