American Media to launch $140 million term C on Wednesday

New York, Jan. 6 - American Media Inc. is scheduled to launch a $140 million term loan C on Wednesday, according to market sources. JPMorgan and Bear Stearns are the lead banks on the deal.

The term loan, combined with issuance of $150 million of senior subordinated notes due 2011, will be used to help fund the purchase of Weider Publications Inc. and its related properties for aggregate consideration of $350 million.

American Media is a Delray Beach, Fla. publishing company.
