InfaCare raises $30 million in series A financing

Erie, Pa., March 10 - InfaCare Pharmaceutical Corp. said it raised $30 million in series A financing.

The round was co-led by new investors Atlas Venture and Pequot Ventures. Leerink Swann & Co. was placement agent.

"This represents a major step forward in our development of Stanate for the treatment of hyperbilirubinemia," president and chief executive officer John Post said in a company news release.

"This financing will allow us to aggressively pursue our development strategy and support the company through to a New Drug Application stage."

Peter Barrett, senior partner of Atlas Venture, and Patrick Enright, managing director of Pequot Ventures, joined InfaCare's board of directors in connection with the financing.

InfaCare is an emerging specialty pharmaceutical company based in Plymouth Meeting, Pa., that acquires, develops and commercializes products for neonates and older children.
