AIG announces offering of junior subordinated debentures

Omaha, Dec. 10 - American International Group, Inc. announced plans Monday to offer junior subordinated debentures, which will price on Wednesday at the earliest, an informed source said.

The securities will be priced at par of $25.

Bookrunners are Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Inc., Morgan Stanley & Co. Inc., UBS Investment Bank and Wachovia Capital Markets LLC.

The insurance and financial company is based in New York City.
