American Equity Investment to start roadshow Monday for $150 million notes

St. Louis, April 23 - American Equity Investment Life Holding Co. will host a roadshow Monday through late in the week of April 26 for a $150 million offering of 10-year and 12-year senior notes (BB+), according to a syndicate source.

Merrill Lynch & Co. will run the books for the off-the-shelf offering. The co-managers are Raymond James, Advest and Wachovia Securities.

The notes in both maturities will be non-callable.

Proceeds will be used to refinance bank debt and for general corporate purposes.

The issuer is a West Des Moines, Iowa-based underwriter of annuity and insurance products.
