Moody's rates Hyundai Motor Baa3

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned a Baa3 issuer rating to Hyundai Motor Co., and affirmed the Baa3 issuer rating of Kia Motors Corp. and the Baa3 ratings for the long-term debt issued by Hyundai Motor's supported subsidiaries, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, LLC and Equus Cayman Finance Ltd.

The outlook is stable.

The ratings reflect Moody's view that group is likely to strengthen its competitiveness in the global markets and maintain or even improve profitability over the intermediate term, backed by its strong ability to develop products that meet changing demand.

The ratings are constrained by ongoing risk factors including a dependence on exports, which makes earnings sensitive to exchange-rate fluctuations, the agency said.
