Huntington Fixed Income Securities Fund seeks OK to reorganize

By Toni Weeks

San Luis Obispo, Calif., April 14 - The board of trustees of Huntington Funds announced that it is seeking shareholder approval to reorganize some funds, according to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

If the reorganizations are approved, the Huntington Fixed Income Securities Fund will merge with and into the Federated Total Return Bond Fund, a portfolio of Federated Total Return Series, Inc. by May 16.

The fund seeks to achieve high current income by investing in fixed-income securities with an average maturity of not greater than 10 years. The fund invests in investment-grade corporate bonds, U.S. Treasuries and government agencies.

Columbus, Ohio-based Huntington Asset Advisors, Inc., a subsidiary of Huntington Bank, is the investment adviser to the Huntington Fund. Federated Investment Management Co. is the investment adviser to the Federated fund.
