GVI affiliate buys more shares of American Commercial Line

Charlotte, N.C., Nov. 28 - GVI Holdings, Inc. affiliate EGI-Fund (08-10) Investors, LLC reported the purchase of an additional 40,000 shares of American Commercial Lines Inc. stock on Nov. 27 for a total of about $596,828.

The shares were acquired in the open market and were priced between $14.80 and $15.09 each, or an average price per share of $14.92, according to a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

With the most recent purchase, EGI-Fund (08-10) owns 1,375,000 shares, or 2.7%, of American Commercial's outstanding shares. As previously reported, the fund purchased 460,000 shares of the company's stock on Nov. 26, boosting its stake in the Jeffersonville, Ind.-based marine transportation and service company to 2.6% from 1.7%.

GVI owns 5,317,084 shares, or 10.5%, of American Commercial's outstanding shares.
