GVI fund ups stake in American Commercial Lines

Charlotte, N.C., Nov. 21 - GVI Holdings, Inc. affiliate EGI-Fund (08-10) Investors, LLC purchased 369,600 shares of American Commercial Lines Inc. stock on Nov. 19 for a total of $5.12 million.

The shares were acquired for $13.45 to $14.10 per share, at an average purchase price of about $13.82 per share, according to a schedule 13D filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

EGI beneficially owns 875,000 shares, or 1.7%, of the Jeffersonville, Ind., marine transportation and service company.

GVI owns 5,317,084 shares, or 10.5%, of American Commercial's outstanding shares.
