Huffy says Forzani Group's $1.62 million bid wins by default

Washington, Dec. 13 - Huffy Corp. said it did not receive any other bids for its intangible assets and patents used in its hockey equipment business leaving the Forzani Group Ltd. the winner with a $1.62 million bid.

The equipment is sold under the Hespeler brand and its in-line skates and action businesses under the name Rage, Dukes, Skate Attack and Ultra Wheels.

Miamisburg, Ohio-based Huffy filed its notice with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio Friday. The sale hearing is scheduled for Dec. 14.

The company filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 20. Its Chapter 11 case number is 04-39148.
