Buffalo, N.Y., Aug. 22 – Huaneng Power International, Inc. issued RMB 500 million of 2.14% two-year debentures at par, according to an announcement on Monday.
Bank of China Ltd. and Agricultural Bank of China Ltd. were the lead underwriters.
The debentures were placed through book-building and issued in China’s domestic interbank bond market.
The issue is the seventh tranche issued in 2022. The notes were issued under a multicurrency program approved on June 28 for up to RMB 100 billion in either the domestic or international markets.
Proceeds will be used to finance the two 650-megawatt equal capacity substitution coal-fired project of Huaneng Shidongkou No. 1 Power Plant.
The Beijing-based company develops, constructs and operates power plants in China.
