HSBC plans barrier enhanced participation notes linked to Dow Jones

Minneapolis, Aug. 14 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% barrier enhanced participation notes due Aug. 25, 2023 linked to the Dow Jones industrial average, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

If the index return is greater than zero, the payout at maturity will be par plus 1.42 times to 1.52 times the index return. The exact upside participation rate will be set at pricing.

Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 30% and will be fully exposed to losses from the initial index level if the index falls by more than 30%.

HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.

The notes will price on Aug. 18 and settle on Aug. 25.

The Cusip number is 40435FCY1.
