HSBC plans leveraged capped notes due 2018 linked to S&P 500

Knoxville, Tenn., Sept. 22 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% leveraged capped notes due in 18 to 21 months linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus 201% to 211% of any index gain, up to a maximum settlement amount of $1,201 and $1,211 per $1,000 of notes.

Investors will lose 1% for each 1% decline.

The exact deal terms will be set at pricing.

HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.

The Cusip number is 40433UVE3.
