HSBC plans six-year Stars on Russell 2000 with 8.75%-9.75% call premium

Morgantown, W.Va., Sept. 12 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price Strategic Accelerated Redemption Securities due September 2022 linked to the Russell 2000 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes will be called at par of $10 plus a call premium of 8.75% to 9.75% per year if the index closes at or above its initial level on any annual review date. The exact call premium will be set at pricing.

If the notes are not called, investors will be exposed to any index decline.

BofA Merrill Lynch is the agent.

The notes will price and settle in September.
