HSBC plans to price 1.5-year buffered AMPS linked to Amazon.com

Morgantown, W.Va., May 23 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% buffered Accelerated Market Participation Securities due Dec. 4, 2017 linked to Amazon.com, Inc. shares, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus 1.5 times any share price gain, up to a maximum return of at least 25%. The exact cap will be set at pricing.

Investors will receive par if the stock falls by up to 10% and will lose 1% for every 1% decline beyond 10%.

HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.

The notes will price on May 31 and settle on June 3.

The Cusip number is 40433UNA0.
