HSBC plans 3.5-year barrier AMPS with cap linked to iShares MSCI EM

Chicago, Aug. 31 – HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% barrier Accelerated Market Participation Securities due March 25, 2019 linked to the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets exchange-traded fund, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus 1.5 times any gain in the fund, up to a maximum return of at least 55%. The exact cap will be set at pricing.

Investors will receive par if the fund falls by up to 25% and will be fully exposed to any losses if the fund finishes below the 75% barrier.

HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the agent.

The notes will price on Sept. 18 and settle on Sept. 25.

The Cusip number is 40433B6G8.
