HSBC plans 5.15% 10-year contingent buffered notes linked to S&P 500

Chicago, Sept. 26 - HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 5.15% buffered notes due Aug. 6, 2014 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Interest will be payable semiannually.
If the index finishes at or above the 60% knock-out level, the payout at maturity will be par.
Otherwise, investors will lose 1.6667% for each 1% decline beyond 40%.
HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the underwriter.
The notes will price on Sept. 27 and settle on Oct. 2.
The Cusip number is 40432XLC3.
