HSBC plans three-year buffered market participation notes on the Dow

Chicago, July 2 - HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% buffered market participation securities due June 30, 2016 linked to the Dow Jones industrial average, according to an FWP with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus any index gain.

Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to the buffer amount and will lose 1% for every 1% decline beyond the buffer. The buffer will be 15% to 20%, with the exact percentage to be set at pricing.

HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the underwriter.

The notes will price on July 26 and settle on July 31.

The Cusip number is 40432XH79.
