HSBC plans buffered uncapped market participation notes on S&P 500

San Diego, Jan. 2 - HSBC USA Inc. plans to price 0% buffered uncapped market participation securities due Jan. 28, 2016 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus any index gain.

Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to the buffer amount of 15% to 20% and will be exposed to losses beyond the buffer amount. The buffer will be set at pricing.

HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. is the underwriter.

The notes will price Jan. 24 and settle Jan. 29.

The Cusip number is 40432X6C0.
