HSBC USA plans equity buffer notes linked to iShares MSCI Emerging Markets

Des Moines, June 11 - HSBC USA Inc. plans to price an issue of equity buffer notes due July 21, 2010 linked to the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets index fund, according to an FWP filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes are expected to price on July 16 and settle on July 19.

At maturity, investors will receive par plus 105% to 112% of any increase in the fund's share price. Investors will lose 1% for each 1% the share price declines beyond 30%.

HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. will be the agent.
