Two HSBC tax-free money market funds to liquidate on Dec. 28

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, Nov. 27 - The board of trustees of HSBC Funds approved on Sept. 7 the liquidation of the HSBC New York Tax-Free Money Market Fund and the HSBC Tax-Free Money Market Fund, according to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The funds will be liquidated on Dec. 28.

Effective immediately, the funds will no longer sell shares to new investors, including through exchanges into the funds from other HSBC funds.

New York-based HSBC Global Asset Management is the investment adviser to the funds.
