HSBC Bank USA plans CDs linked to global index basket

Seattle, Dec. 4 - HSBC Bank USA NA plans to price an issue of Far East opportunity point-to-point certificates of deposit due Dec. 28, 2011 linked to a basket of indexes, according to a term sheet.

The basket will include equal weights of the Nikkei 225, Hong Kong Hang Seng China Enterprises, Morgan Stanley Capital International Taiwan and Morgan Stanley Capital International Singapore Free indexes.

The CDs will price on Dec. 21 and settle on Dec. 28.

The payout at maturity will be par plus the return on the basket. Investors will receive at least par.

Holders will have the right to put back the CDs on Dec. 31 of each year at the market price, as determined by the issuer.

LaSalle ABN Amro will be the agent.
