Houghton Mifflin to price $1.35 billion eight-year notes on Friday

Portland, Ore., May 9 - Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishers Inc. plans to price a $1.35 billion offering of eight-year first-lien notes (//B) on Friday, according to market sources.

J.P. Morgan Securities LLC, Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC and Wells Fargo Securities are the joint bookrunners.

The notes come with four years of call protection.

The Boston-based educational publisher plans to use the proceeds to repay debt.
