By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, April 20 – Hospital Acquisition LLC, which operates numerous New LifeCare and LifeCare medical facilities, said in a notice filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware that its Chapter 11 plan effective date deadline has been extended through April 21.

The company said the deadline is subject to further extension.

Hospital Acquisition’s pre-bankruptcy lender agents agreed to the extension.

As previously reported, the company’s plan of liquidation was confirmed on Jan. 15. The plan originally was required to take effect within 90 days of confirmation.

LifeCare, a Plano, Tex.-based health care consulting and management services company, filed for bankruptcy on May 6, 2019. The Chapter 11 case number is 19-10998.
