Home Interiors seeks four-month exclusivity extension

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, July 28 - Home Interiors & Gifts, Inc. is seeking an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.

The company is looking to extend its exclusive plan-filing period to Dec. 25 from Aug. 27 and the solicitation period to Feb. 23 from Oct. 26.

As previously reported, Home Interiors filed a plan and related disclosure statement on its bankruptcy filing date.

However, the company said it will file an updated plan and disclosure statement by Aug. 22.

Although the new plan could be confirmed within the current exclusivity period, the company said it is requesting the extension to avoid having to file multiple extension motions if the process is delayed.

A hearing is scheduled for Aug. 20.

Home Interiors & Gifts is a Dallas-based integrated manufacturer and distributor of home decorative accessories. The company filed for bankruptcy on April 29. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-31961.
