HomeBanc solicitation period extended for fourth time

By Jennifer Lanning Drey

Portland, Ore., Oct. 6 - HomeBanc Mortgage Corp. obtained a fourth extension to its exclusive period to solicit votes on its plan of liquidation, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The exclusive solicitation period was extended to Jan. 5 from Oct. 6.

When requesting the extension, the company said the hearing on approval of its disclosure statement has been postponed while HomeBanc worked to resolve issues that could affect creditor distributions.

Accordingly, the company said the solicitation extension was necessary because it cannot begin to solicit votes on its liquidation plan until the disclosure statement is approved.

HomeBanc, an Atlanta-based mortgage banking business, filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 9, 2007. Its Chapter 11 case number is 07-11079.
