HomeBanc granted four-month exclusivity extension

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Nov. 26 - HomeBanc Mortgage Corp. obtained an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and solicit votes on the plan, according to a Monday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company's exclusive plan-filing period was extended to April 7 from Dec. 7 and the solicitation period to June 4, 2008 from Feb. 5.

HomeBanc said the extension is necessary to allow it to complete the sale of its servicing business and other assets and then to formulate a plan.

HomeBanc, an Atlanta-based mortgage banking business, filed for bankruptcy on Aug. 9. Its Chapter 11 case number is 07-11079.
