American Bank Note Holographics now part of JDS Uniphase

Charlotte, N.C., Feb. 13 - JDS Uniphase Corp. said its completed acquisition of American Bank Note Holographics, Inc. will provide its customers with an expanded set of overt and covert authentication options in the brand security market.

American Bank Note Holographics will be integrated into JDS Uniphase's advanced optical technologies segment.

As a result of the merger, each share of American Bank Note Holographics common stock has been converted into the right to receive 0.4479 shares of JDS Uniphase common stock and $1 of cash, a company news release stated.

On Dec. 10, JSD Uniphase agreed to acquire American Bank Note Holographics in a stock and cash deal valued at $138 million.

American Bank Note Holographics produces and markets holograms for security applications. The Robbinsville, N.J., company also supplies optical security devices for the transaction card market.

JDS Uniphase, based in Milpitas, Calif., provides communications test and measurement solutions, as well as optical products.
