Hollywood Casino Shreveport creditors request claims be allowed for plan votes

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, May 24 - Four creditors of Hollywood Casino Shreveport have requested temporary allowance of their claims so that they can vote on the plan of reorganization put forward jointly by the company and the bondholders committee, according to Monday filings with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Louisiana.

Bondholders Black Diamond CLO 2000-1 Ltd., with a $2 million claim plus interest and other charges; BDC Finance, LLC, with a claim of $95,000 plus interest and fees; and BDCM Opportunity Fund LP, with a claim of $27.66 million, said their claims arise from 13% senior secured and senior mortgage notes issued by the company.

Hollywood Casino Shreveport has objected to Black Diamond's claims. Black Diamond says it is seeking temporary allowance to preserve its rights to vote on the plan.

Broadmoor LLC, whose subsidiary Broadmoor Design Group was the architect for the hotel and podium of the Hollywood Casino Riverboat Complex, said it holds a $1.21 million unsecured claim against Hollywood.

Following litigation and claims arbitration, Hollywood objected to Broadmoor's and Broadmoor/Roy Anderson Corp.'s remaining claims.

Broadmoor/Roy Anderson Corp. said its $7.58 million claim should be allowed for voting purposes. Broadmoor/Roy Anderson contends its claim arises from bad faith litigation tactics from "defending itself against a parade of spurious claims brought [by Hollywood against Broadmoor/Roy Anderson] in an attempt to avoid paying monies rightfully due."

Finally, Shreveport Paddlewheels, LLC's requested claim is for $2.25 million.

Hollywood Casino Shreveport owns and operates a riverboat casino and hotel complex located on the Red River in Shreveport, La. Black Diamond and other creditors filed an involuntary bankruptcy case against the casino and resort company on Sept. 10, 2004. The Chapter 11 case number is 04-13259.
