S&P rates HF Sinclair BBB-

S&P said it gave HF Sinclair Corp. a BBB- issuer rating. HollyFrontier Corp. (HFC) closed on its acquisition of Sinclair Oil Corp., and the newly merged company is HF Sinclair.

The new rating is in line with S&P’s rating on HFC. “The newly formed company has relatively modest size and scale and strong asset diversity. HF Sinclair has seven refineries with total processing capacity of 678,000 barrels per day (bpd). Additionally, HF Sinclair benefits from material EBITDA contributions from HEP (its midstream master limited partnership [MLP]) and its lubricants business,” the agency said in a press release.

S&P said it sees expect debt to EBITDA of about 1.5x in 2022.

The outlook is stable.
