Hollinger settles claims against former directors Atkinson, Boultbee

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, July 19 - Hollinger Inc.'s litigation trustee said the company and former directors Peter Y. Atkinson and John A. Boultbee entered into settlements that resolve all claims against Atkinson and Boultbee.

According to company news releases, Atkinson and Boultbee agreed to provide continuing cooperation to Hollinger Inc. and the litigation trustee in their pursuit of claims against the remaining defendants to Hollinger-related litigation in exchange for a dismissal of the claims brought by the company against the former directors.

Atkinson and Boultbee were also granted releases in their favor by Hollinger and its subsidiaries, other than Chicago Newspapers Liquidation Corp., and by third parties involved in the Hollinger litigation.

The settlements and releases are subject to court approval.

Hollinger filed its Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act proceedings and Chapter 15 bankruptcy on Aug. 1, 2007. Its Chapter 15 case is number 07-11029 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
