American Apparel seven-member unsecured creditors committee appointed

Pittsburgh, Oct. 15 – American Apparel, Inc.’s official committee of unsecured creditors was appointed Thursday by acting Region 3 U.S. trustee Andrew R. Vara, according to a notice filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
The committee members are Rana Mitra and Don Choi of Atalaya Asset Income Fund I LP of New York; Peyton K. McElyea of Alameda Square Owner LLC of Los Angeles; Ronald M. Tucker of Simon Property Group, based in Indianapolis; James Herbert of Dunaway Yarns, Inc. of Florence, S.C.; Charles Chang of Andari Fashion Inc. of El Monte, Calif.; Kirby Schnebly of United Fabricare Supply, Inc. of Compton, Calif.; and Sultan Masri of Fabric Avenue, Inc. of Los Angeles.
American Apparel, a Los Angeles-based manufacturer, distributor and retailer of branded fashion basic apparel, filed bankruptcy on Oct. 5. The Chapter 11 case number is 15-12055.
