American Airlines readies Wednesday launch for new credit facility

New York, Sept. 23 – American Airlines Inc. will hold a conference call at 11 a.m. ET on Wednesday to launch a new secured credit facility, according to a market source.

The company said in an 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission last week that it is considering getting a new $1.8 billion credit facility comprised of an $800 million five-year revolver and a $1 billion seven-year term loan.

Citigroup Global Markets Inc. is the left lead arranger on the deal.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

American Airlines is a Fort Worth, Texas-based airline company.
