Hines Nurseries wants four more months to file plan, garner support

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Feb. 8 - Hines Nurseries LLC is seeking a four-month extension to its exclusive periods for filing and soliciting votes on a plan of liquidation, according to a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Specifically, the company wants to extend its exclusive plan-filing period to June 9 from Feb. 9 and the solicitation period to Aug. 8 from April 10.

Hines Nurseries said it hopes to be able to file a plan after completing its auction and sale process. The auction is scheduled for Feb. 25 and the sale hearing for Feb. 28.

The company said the exclusivity extension would allow it to complete the sale process.

A hearing is scheduled for March 14.

Hines Nurseries, an Irvine, Calif., commercial nursery operation, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 12. The case was filed under the name Consolidated Horticulture Group LLC. The Chapter 11 case number is 10-13308.
