Hines hires Miller Buckfire, Kirkland & Ellis to explore strategic alternatives

New York, Oct. 11 - Hines Horticulture Inc. has retained Miller Buckfire & Co., LLC and Kirkland & Ellis LLP to assist management and the board of directors in evaluating its strategic alternatives, according to an 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The Irvine, Calif.-based operator of commercial nurseries added that its board of directors appointed Ray E. Mabus and Hugh E. Sawyer as additional non-executive independent members of the board, filling two vacancies.
