Moody's rates Hidroelectrica Ba3

Moody's Investors Service said it issued a new senior implied rating of Ba3 for Hidroelectrica SA. The outlook is stable.

Moody's said the Ba3 rating factors Hidroelectrica's strong credit metrics, the relatively benign regulatory environment and the company's significant market position, as well as the 100% government ownership of Hidroelectrica.

One of the main considerations for the Ba3 rating is Moody's view that Hidroelectrica will remain one of the leading electricity generators in Romania and that Hidroelectrica is unlikely to suffer any significant competitor pressure despite market liberalization.
