hibu foreign representative asks U.S. court to close Chapter 15 case

By Kali Hays

New York, March 13 - hibu Inc.'s foreign representative Christian Henry Wells has requested the company's Chapter 15 case be closed, according to a March 12 filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York.

As previously reported, hibu filed Chapter 15 bankruptcy in January to obtain U.S. court recognition of its U.K. reorganization proceedings.

Wells claimed that with the "considerable progress made by the debtors and the foreign representative, the English court having sanctioned the schemes and the English proceedings now concluded, and this court having entered an order recognizing the English proceedings and granting additional relief, there is no foreseeable reason for these Chapter 15 cases to remain open," the filing stated.

The company's scheme of arrangement was sanctioned by the High Court of Justice of England and Wales Feb. 27.

A hearing is scheduled for March 27.

hibu Inc., a Uniondale, N.Y., print and digital directory and digital services provider, filed bankruptcy on Feb. 28. The Chapter 15 case number is 14-70323.
