HP completes tender offer for Opsware

Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 17 - Hewlett-Packard Co. completed its tender offer for Opsware Inc. as planned on Friday.

Some 104.2 million shares, or 96% of Opsware's outstanding shares, were tendered in the offer.

The merger of Opsware with a Hewlett-Packard subsidiary is expected to occur within the next several days, according to a company news release.

On July 23, Hewlett-Packard agreed to acquire Opsware in a $14.25-per-share cash tender offer valued at approximately $1.6 billion including debt.

Hewlett-Packard is an information technology company based in Palo Alto, Calif.

Opsware, based in Sunnyvale, Calif., is a data center automation company.
