Heritage Home Group Chapter 11 bankruptcy case converted to Chapter 7

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, March 15 – Heritage Home Group LLC’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy case was converted to Chapter 7 Friday by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

Although there are outstanding accounts receivable and other estate assets that may be available to satisfy some creditor claims, without an ability to fund ongoing administrative expenses, Heritage Home said in the conversion motion that it has no ability to pursue the recovery of those assets or prosecute a Chapter 11 plan.

“Accordingly, the debtors believe there is no reasonable likelihood that the debtors could confirm and consummate a Chapter 11 plan, and respectfully submit that a Chapter 7 trustee will be able to more efficiently and effectively bring these cases to their conclusion,” the motion said.

Alfred T. Giuliano has been appointed as Heritage Home’s Chapter 7 trustee.

High Point, N.C.-based Heritage Home Group is a home furnishings manufacturer and retailer. The company filed bankruptcy on July 29, 2018 under Chapter 11 case number 18-11736.
