Hercules Offshore plan objections mediation request approved by court

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Aug. 17 – Hercules Offshore, Inc.’s request to refer objections related to its joint pre-packaged plan of reorganization to mediation was granted Wednesday by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

In addition to the company, the official committee of equity security holders and an informal committee will participate in the mediation. Representatives of the company’s first-lien lender agent and the U.S. Trustee may also attend the mediation, according to the order.

Judge Christopher S. Sontchi was appointed as the mediator.

The mediation of the plan-related issues will be non-binding.

Hercules, a Houston-based provider of offshore drilling equipment and services, filed bankruptcy on June 6. The Chapter 11 case number is 16-11385.
