Moody's ups Abbott outlook to stable

Moody's Investors Service said it changed the outlook of Abbott Laboratories to stable from negative.

At the same time, Moody's said it affirmed Abbott's A1 long-term debt ratings and its prime-1 short-term rating.

Moody's noted that the change in outlook primarily reflects our expectation that: (1) Abbott will generate stronger cash flow in 2008 supported by new products such as Xience and Simcor as well as continued expansion of Humira and (2) in combination with somewhat lower risk of large acquisitions over the near-term, cash balances and credit metrics should improve.
