Amcast trustee, creditor object to disclosure statement

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, May 31 - Amcast Industrial Corp.'s disclosure statement in connection with its plan of reorganization drew objections from the U.S. Trustee and Valleycrest Landfill Groups, according to Friday filings with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio.

Both the trustee and Valleycrest said the plan does not provide adequate information on alternatives to liquidation, new stock to be issued by the reorganized debtors, the affect of the Lee Brass Co. asset sale and the treatment of creditor classes under the plan.

The trustee said the lack of information does not allow voters to make an informed decision on the statement.

A hearing on the disclosure statement is scheduled for June 9.

Amcast, a Dayton, Ohio, manufacturer of plumbing and auto components, filed for Chapter 11 on Nov. 30, 2004. Its case number is 04-40504.
