Amcast plan of reorganization approved by most voting creditors

Pittsburgh, April 9 - Amcast Industrial Corp.'s plan of reorganization was approved by a majority of voting creditors, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana.

Specifically, all eight holders of $42.91 million in secured term loan B lenders claims and all three holders of equity interest claims voted to accept the plan.

In addition, 92 creditors, or 93.88%, holding $771,401, or 94.99% in amount, of general unsecured claims voted to accept the plan, while six creditors, or 6.12%, holding $40,697, or 5.01% in amount, of these claims voted to reject it.

Amcast, a Fremont, Ind., manufacturer and distributor of automotive products, filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 5, 2005. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-33322.
