S&P rates Healthcare Trust notes BBB-

Standard & Poor's said it assigned a BBB- corporate credit rating to Healthcare Trust of America Holdings LP, a subsidiary of Healthcare Trust Of America Inc.

The agency also said it assigned a BBB- rating to Healthcare Trust of America's proposed offering of $250 million senior unsecured notes due 2023.

The notes are being issued by Healthcare Trust of America Holdings and guaranteed by Healthcare Trust of America.

The ratings reflect the REIT's fair business risk profile as supported by the steady demand characteristics of medical office buildings, a geographically diverse and well-occupied portfolio and lack of development risk, S&P said.

The agency said it balances these factors against the aggressive growth path of the young firm and the relatively short period of time that management has operated the existing portfolio, the agency said.
