Hawker Beechcraft operating loss narrows to $15.3 million in August

Pittsburgh, Sept. 25 - Hawker Beechcraft, Inc. posted a $15.3 million operating loss for August on total sales of $143.9 million, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Those figures showed improvement from a $16.2 million operating loss reported for July on total sales of $116.9 million.

Hawker Beechcraft's net loss for August was $33.7 million, widening slightly from a $33.5 million July net loss.

The company also reported cash and cash equivalents of $161.5 million as of Aug. 31, down from $179.2 million at the end of July.

Hawker Beechcraft, a Wichita, Kan.-based manufacturer of business, special mission, light attack and trainer aircraft, filed for bankruptcy on May 3. The Chapter 11 case number is 12-11873.
