By Toni Weeks

San Diego, Sept. 17 - Hartford Mutual Funds, Inc. plans to offer the Hartford Quality Bond Fund, according to an N-1A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The fund plans to launch with A, C, I, R3, R4, R5 and Y share classes in late November.

The fund will seek to maximize total return while providing a high level of current income consistent with prudent investment risk by investing at least 80% of its net assets in investment-grade, fixed-income securities.

Michael F. Garrett will be the portfolio manager.

Shareholder fees will be comprised of a 4.5% maximum sales charge for class A shares and a 1% exchange fee for class C shares.

Management fees will run 0.5%. Including other fees and expenses and taking into account a fee waiver agreement, total annual fund operating expenses are expected to be 0.9% for class A and class R4 shares, 1.65% for class C shares, 0.65% for class I shares, 1.2% for class R3 shares, 0.6% for class R5 shares and 0.55% for class Y shares.

Simsbury, Conn.-based Hartford Investment Financial Services, LLC will be the investment adviser.
